Transportation on demand, TRC pilot project in Maryland
The Routing Company (TRC) announced that it has signed a contract with the Anne Arundel County Office of Transportation (AA OOT) to provide on-demand transportation service. The six-month, three-vehicle pilot project is scheduled to launch in early spring 2023.
With this service partnership, AA OOT becomes the first agency in the state of Maryland to use TRC’s patented technology. TRC will work with AA OOT to improve the convenience and accessibility of its on-call services by routing SouthCounty “Call-n-Ride” reservations through the Pingo™ app. The service partnership will also improve connectivity and access to AA OOT’s existing fixed-route bus service.
AA OOT will take advantage of the entire Pingo suite, including Transit Connect™, which provides passengers with fixed-route connectivity, the Pingo Dashboard operating and management tool, and Pingo Journey™. With Pingo Journey, riders can book rides on-demand and plan end-to-end trips on other modes of transportation, all within the Ride Pingo™ app. Over the course of the partnership, TRC will provide AACT with comprehensive reporting and configuration services, testing, driver and fleet operator training, and hardware.
