The Routing Company launches Pingo Campus

The Routing Company (TRC) introduced its new campus division, which will support an on-demand solution for campus transportation, designed to directly service university, secondary school and corporate campus riders. Services include Pingo Campus™, Pingo Journey™, Pingo Venues™ and Transit Connect™.

Pingo Campus™ is TRC’s custom-built offering for campuses launched in late 2022. These services use the same user interface as TRC’s Ride Pingo™ app while integrating constraints optimized for shuttle use. This includes greater fixed and flex route options and heightened security features that meet rigorous academic and corporate privacy requirements.

Pingo Campus™ allows riders to track available shuttles in a specified area in real time, with Pingo Journey™ to find other public transit options and plan onward multimodal transit journeys, and integrates Transit Connect™ to link riders to core mobility hubs.

TRC’s recent campus and shuttle deployments include Virginia Commonwealth University, Iowa’s CyRide, Maryland’s Bethesda Urban Partnership, a large Netherlands-based employer and three additional private deployments spanning corporate and academic campus shuttle services.

“Pingo Campus has proven to be a powerful solution for academic and corporate campus transit operators spanning North America and Europe, namely in the deployment of responsive shuttle services,” said James Cox, TRC CEO. “Not only does this feature improve mobility on campuses, it lends a safer, more flexible and more efficient rider experience with on-demand shuttle capabilities and guaranteed connections to onward transit journeys.”
