TRC expands reach with third partnership in The Netherlands, deploying employee transport across Schiedam with RMC

Flexible employee travel option in Rotterdam-The Hague metropolitan area with RMC marks TRC’s eighth partnership in Europe
20 December 2023 – Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS: The Routing Company (“TRC”), a global on-demand transport and paratransit platform partnering with cities to power the future of public transport, today announced a new partnership with the municipality of Schiedam and the Dutch operator RMC BV (“RMC”). TRC now provides the technology to power employee transport in this municipality of the province Zuid-Holland, with service having launched last month.
The municipality of Schiedam is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, with a population of approximately 80,000.
Together with RMC, TRC provides first- and last-mile solutions under the name “Schiedam Port Express” for employees commuting to a previously underserved area, the Wilhelminakade port. The service provides transportation services during peak hours, seamlessly connecting employees with local public transport services via TRC’s Pingo app, and ultimately reducing car dependency and the need for parking spots in the area.
Co-founded by Menno van der Zee (TU Delft alumnus), TRC has seen steady growth in The Netherlands. The new partnership with RMC follows deployments in The Hague and Eindhoven. In late 2022, the municipality of The Hague and HTM partnered with TRC to provide hub-to-hub on-demand service between nine stops in the north of the city, replacing the area’s previously underutilised fixed-route service. In Eindhoven, TRC offers a first and last-mile shuttle service to provide accessible and sustainable transportation for employees of a large international corporation.

Flexibel en duurzamer vervoer in metropoolregio Rotterdam-Den Haag, TRC’s achtste samenwerking in Europa
20 december 2023 – Amsterdam: The Routing Company ("TRC"), een platform dat wereldwijd samenwerkt met steden om vraaggestuurd- en WMO-vervoer aan te sturen, kondigt vandaag een nieuwe samenwerking aan met de gemeente Schiedam en de Nederlandse vervoerder RMC BV ("RMC"). TRC levert sinds afgelopen maand de technologie voor werknemersvervoer in deze Zuid-Hollandse gemeente.
RMC biedt samen met TRC een first- en last-mile oplossing onder de naam "Schiedam Port Express" voor mensen die voor hun werk naar een tot nu toe slecht bereikbaar havengebied reizen, de Wilhelminakade. De dienst voorziet vervoersdiensten tijdens piekuren, waarbij werknemers via TRC's Pingo app naadloos worden verbonden met het lokale openbaar vervoer en de afhankelijkheid van de auto en de schaarse parkeerplaatsen wordt teruggedrongen.
TRC is mede opgericht door Menno van der Zee (TU Delft alumnus) en heeft een gestage groei doorgemaakt in Nederland. Deze nieuwe samenwerking met RMC komt na implementaties in Den Haag en Eindhoven. Eind 2022 startte TRC een samenwerking met gemeente Den Haag en HTM om hub-tot-hub vraaggestuurd vervoer aan te bieden tussen negen haltes in het noorden van de stad, ter vervanging van een onderbenutte vaste route. In Eindhoven biedt TRC een eerste en laatste mijl pendeldienst om toegankelijk en duurzamer vervoer te bieden aan werknemers van een groot internationaal bedrijf.
